THE DIPLOMACY COMPETITION
is shaking up the traditional Model United Nations experience.
We're taking it online,
we're adding some prizes,
and we're making it more regular and accessible.

Take part in this initiative and help make UN Youth history!

LIKE us on Facebook for important announcements!

UN+Accessible
With free registration, any secondary student with an internet connection can compete. We want to break down geographical barriers and bring together more students from more places - all in real time!

UN+Educational
The Diplomacy Competition will feature four distinct phases and each one requires a different combination of skills. We want to expand the educational horizons of Model UN while engaging more students with the world's most pressing issues.

UN+Competitive
See how you stack up against some of the best students from around the country and be in to win some great prizes. We believe that well-run, interesting competitions inspire a passion in people that can be hard to match through other initiatives.
HOW IT WORKS
REGISTRATION
Register through your school's teacher liaison. Otherwise, contact us at diplomacy@unyouth.org.nz!
PHASE ONE
Researching and Writing
Analyse a Resolution you are given to write a Position Paper. A Position Paper is a document that outlines your assigned country's views on the topic at hand.
PHASE TWO
Commenting and Discussing
Read other Teams' Position Papers, give them feedback, and negotiate. Use your knowledge to convince others to agree with you.
PHASE THREE
Reviewing and Revising
Use the feedback and discussion from Phase Two to edit your Position Paper and upload a final version.
PHASE FOUR
Marking and Voting
Mark other Teams' Position Papers in terms of Content, Analysis, and Communication, and vote on the Resolution as it stands.
RESULTS
After external marking and moderation, the results of the vote on the Resolution will be announced and the leader board will be updated with the results.
